To Prepare the crab curry:
Ingredients:
1 kg crabs cleaned and washed
For the masala:
- 1 1/2 tspns jeerah or cummin seeds
- 1 ½ tspn pepper seeds
- 8 nos. dried red chillies
- 1/2 tspn turmeric powder
- 1 marble sized tamarind pulp
- 2 big onions
- 6 flakes garlic
- 3/4 cup grated coconut
- Salt to taste.
Method:
- Grind the masala to a smooth paste, adding water.
- Heat a tablespoon of cooking oil to a vessel.
- Fry the finely chopped onion in it, until slightly
- brownish.
- Add to it the ground masala.
- Saute the masala on a medium flame for 5 minutes.
- Add 1 1/2 cups of water and make a thick gravy.
- Bring it to a boil and add the crab pieces to it.
- Simmer for five minutes.
A delicious curry is ready.
